As an attorney he has successfully represented many disabled clients in their application for both Social Security Disability benefits (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

With respect to the Social Security disability process he assisted individuals with filing initial applications, filing appeals of denials by the Social Security Administration, representing clients in front of Administrative Law Judges at the hearing level and when necessary filing appeals to the Appeals Council.

Mr. Gourley has successfully assisted disabled clients who are enrolled in the New Jersey Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) and the Police and Firemen's Retirement System (PFRS) in their disability retirement applications for both Ordinary Disability and Accidental Disability.

He also assisted former National Football League (NFL) Players in applying for disability retirement benefits through the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle NFL Player Retirement Plan.
